Pseuodomorgus sudhii that inhibits dry grass blades has been named after archeologist Sudhikumar
A new species of spider discovered from the Thar desert of Rajasthan has been named after malayali arconologist.
A new species of jumping spider, pseudomorgus , Sudhii, has been named after SudhiKumar A.V. , head, department of zoology, Christ College , irinjalakuda, and founder of the centre of animal taxonomy and ecology ( CATE ) in recognition of his contribution to the field of Indian archaeology.
The the jumping spider was discovered during joint exploration of Dimitri logunov of (creator Manchester museum, the University of Manchester UK), Rishikesh Balkrishna Tripathi and Ashish Kumar Jangid of wildlife institute of India Dehradun.
Female spiderThe species inhibits dry grass blades of the desert. it is a first report of this genus from India. so far 35 species of spider of this genus has been a discovered worldwide.
Discovery of this new species from the Thar desert has been published in the latest volume of Archnology , an international scientific journal of the British Archnological ssociety.
The spider is only 4 mm long. Dark brown coloured head of the mail is covered with a small white hairs and has a black eye region.
Male spiderThere is a dark mid- longitudinal band transversing the pale -yellow coloured abdomen. Head of the female is yellow with a black eyes. There are white spot on it's a light yellow abdomen, according to the description given in the scientific journal.

The studies named after doctor SudhiKumar for his contribution to the field of Indian archaeology.
Dr Sudhir Kumar has published more than 200 research article on the Indian spider in various international and national jounerals. He is author of Keralathaile chilanthikal published by the Kerala Bhasha institute.
Under the leadership researchers from CATE have so far discovered 35 new species of spider from different geography location in Kerala. He is the principal investigator of various research a projects founded by both of Central and the state government. There are 15 research student is currently studying about the diversity of his spider milliped and ants of Kerala.
The Thar spider fauna remains practically unexployed, with only a few scratch scattered checklist published to date , according to the researcher indicating scope of more studies.
